Sofia is pursuing her PhD at Baylor College of Medicine as part of the Development, Disease Models and Therapeutics program, focusing on the understanding of DNA damage mechanisms. Prior to moving to Houston, she received her bachelor’s in biotechnology from the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) in Buenos Aires. As part of her studies, she worked on N-glycosylation disorders at Fundacion Instituto Leloir. She currently serves as co-Director of Basecamp and Workshops, and is spearheading the program’s international business development efforts. She is passionate about promoting science understanding among the general public and contributing to the entrepreneurial community in Houston and worldwide.
