***THIS EVENT IS MANDATORY TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR BIOVENTURES 2019 COHORT JAN 24-MAR 28, 2019***
At this Team Formation meeting, we will form the teams that will go forward into our 2019 cohort.
Each person will pitch an idea and their value as a teammate. The idea could be something you are working on personally or could be publically available IP from the NIH or university tech transfer websites. Your value as a teammate could include your past leadership or entrepreneurship experiences.
Once everyone has pitched, our mentors will select the ideas with the highest potential. The people who pitched those ideas will become the team leads and the individuals whose ideas were not selected will then join a team.
The team will begin coordinating work to be done prior to our first pitches on January 24, 2019.
Participants must be current students/trainees (PhD, post-doc, MD, resident, MBA, Masters, undergrads, etc). Past participants have come from UH, Rice, UT Health, UTMB, Methodist, St. Thomas, BCM, and more. If you are not a student but wish to mentor our teams, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
An idea/patent is NOT required for Bioventures participation. If you do have an idea/company, it should have a life sciences application (digital health, medical device, therapeutics). Past participants include diagnostics, therapies, consumer app, surgical equipment, and laboratory business service.
Prior exposure to entrepreneurship is required. This could include: Jack Gill's Life Science Entrepreneurship Course, Enventure Workshops, ENRICH, Fannin Innovation Studio Internship, internships with other startups, etc.
